I’ve probably made it pretty clear by now that I’m definitely PRO subscription boxes haha so when the Detox Market team reached out about a collaboration I was nothing short of ecstatic! You just can’t beat the cost effectiveness and convenience these boxes provide all while granting you clean and safe products right to your door.
If you’re unfamiliar with The Detox Market, they’re an all natural beauty store that offers tons of the best green products in one place. They currently sell their items in brick and mortar locations as well as an online marketplace for those of us who aren’t close by. In addition to their store items, they also offer a monthly Detox Box subscription service that brings you the best of the best green beauty brands. This month’s box was DEFINITELY one of those brands.
Each month, the detox box includes one “holy grail” brand from the green beauty community and ensures a value of at least $90 (most times more!) worth of product. To give you an idea of what we’re working with here, some brands featured in the previous months were Hynt Beauty, Josh Rosebrook and Dr. Alkaitis to name a few. If you’re new to clean beauty and these names seem foreign, they’re pretty much the crème de la crème. What I love about this concept is that you really get to explore and get a feel for the brand by trying various products from their line all in one shot.
As far as plans go, they can be purchased on a month to month basis or in 3-6 month pre paid subscriptions. The boxes become more and more discounted when you pre purchase in advance starting as low as $39.95! Trust me when I tell you you’re getting WAY more than what you’re paying for. The April Box – $160 value
I have been wanting to try more products from this month’s featured brand FOREVER so I literally did a happy dance when I opened the box and saw the contents!! This month’s feature is from a plant-based skin care company called Osea (pronounced OH-SEE-UH) that utilizes the earth’s minerals and the ocean’s essence in their beautifully crafted formulas. This company is so luxurious, high quality and effective you guys. Learn more about the maker here → Osea’s Maker
Here’s what the box included.
Osea Ocean Cleanser – full size / retail $44 / for normal to combination skin
Before I even get into the product itself can we just talk about how this alone retails for $44 and the subscription box is only $49.99 for the single month. What the what?! Ok, I needed to stress the epicness of this but let’s get back to the cleanser.
Designed to effectively remove excess oil, hydrate and surface impurities from the skin, this nutrient packed cleanser left my skin feeling SO refreshed and clean after one use. My skin didn’t feel stripped or “squeaky” afterwards and it worked really well for my combo skin. The smell reminds me of a natural fruity pebble scent containing key ingredients like: organic seaweed, juniper leaf, jojoba oil, jasmine, lime and beet derived lactic acid. Here’s a look at the full ingredient list –
I used about 2 1/2 pumps in my hand and worked it into my damp face in gentle circular motions. Because this product is natural and free from synthetic surfactants (foaming agents), it doesn’t lather like conventional cleansers do. The consistency is very thin and cream like and dissolves into the skin after being massaged into the face. I then rinsed with warm water, patted my face dry and followed up with next product.
Osea Essential Hydrating Oil – full size / retail $68 / for dry, normal and combination skin
I typically follow-up my cleansing with a cream moisturizer and then oil but the directions on their site suggested I use oil first. This oil is one of Osea’s top sellers and is designed to visibly reduce the appearance of fine line/wrinkles, deliver advanced hydration and restore “a dewy luster” to your skin. Some of the key ingredients include: Rosewood, Geranium, Lemon peel, Sesame seed oil and Vitamin E.
A little bit goes a long with this oil so 1 1/2 – 2 pumps is all you need! The smell is wonderful with hints of lavender, chamomile and bergamot. It’s also the perfect consistency – not too runny and not too thick. I massaged this into my face/neck and love how soft it made my skin feel!! I definitely think this is a new staple in my skin care routine.
Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream – full size / retail $48 / for dry, normal and combination skin
I followed up my oil with this Atmosphere Protection Cream – the final product included in my Detox Box. After using all three products it seems the theme for Osea is gentle, lightweight and really effective.
This cream is designed to moisturize, combat damage caused by environmental stressors, reduce redness and firm the skin. It can also be used as a primer before makeup application. Some key ingredients include: Avocado oil, Macadamia seed, Shea butter, Lavender and Organic algae.
Like the oil, I also used about 2 pumps in my hand and worked it into my skin. It has a beautiful lavender scent that is uplifting and light. The consistency is a gentle cream that leaves the skin feeling super soft and silky smooth. I love that it doesn’t clog my pores or feel heavy while providing the perfect amount of moisture. This worked perfectly for my combo skin and though it suggests it, I don’t know that it would be the best option for anyone with very dry skin as it does also tighten and slightly mattify. I’d say it’s perfect for slightly dry, normal and combo skin.
At a whopping $160 value you seriously shouldn’t wait to snag one of these boxes! The products were all heavenly and I couldn’t love them any more than I do. I’m so excited to have these in my skin care regimen now and am awed that the Detox Market curated such a beautiful, cost effective box.
There are only a limited quantity available for this box and I can totally see these selling out fast. RUN DONT WALK and get yours here → April Detox Box!
Til next time!
