5 free mobile apps to help boost your content

As a creative, I’m always on the hunt for new tools to help my content thrive. These days, I’ve been really dabbling into the more artistic side of things and have received TONS of questions about what software I use for editing my images and videos. While it is true that I am a sucker for some good old fashion Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, I certainly don’t use these programs all the time. In fact, since finding the apps I’m about to share with you, I am now able to edit on the go WITH MY FINGER with no need for a computer. Yup, a lot of my cool pics you love and compliment are done right from my phone. The best part? They’re all free.99.

1. Mobile Lightroom app

This app is a must if you’re a content creator – period. There are currently two versions of Lightroom available one of which is a free mobile option for your phone. Lightroom is the go to program for all things photography as it allows you to edit your photos with professional tools. And I’m not just talking your average “brightening” and “contrast” adjustments either. Lightroom allows you to dive deep into a variety of tools that can totally transform your photos. Another great option exclusive to Lightroom is something called presets. Presets are essentially built in settings that creators build for your pictures. Presets can be applied to your images with the click of a button creating a cohesive and professional look for your content. Check out the presets I created and sell for Lightroom mobile here!

2. Canva

If creating graphics isn’t your thing, Canva is your solution. Canva is a great option with tons of built in templates for everything from IG stories, posts, Pinterest pins, e-books and even media kits. I personally use Canva on the regular and highly recommend it to anyone pursuing content creation. The easy editing format makes it simple to tweak things to your preference from colors to shapes and much more. It’s perfect for on the go content creation.

3. PicsArt

This app is a serious game changer. I am so impressed with what you are able to achieve on here and it’s become a quick favorite of mine. PicsArt has a ton of built in effects, filters and incredible Photoshop level options. Once you upload an image into the app you can then begin editing. One of my favorite features is the “Stickers” option that allows you to get super creative with a endless library of images and effects. If you love the idea of creative edits but struggle with ideas, you can also explore the discovery page of the app. On this page there are always cool edits that you can apply directly by hitting the “TRY” button.

4. Pixaloop

A really cool trending edit right now for content is called Cinemagraphs. Cinemagraphs are still photos with a selection of motion graphics. This can be used on all kinds of images to help bring it to life in a fun and professional way. Pixaloop is extremely easy to use and works on virtually any picture. All you have to do is upload an image, select the area that you want to convert to motion graphic and make your preferred adjustments. This app is really fun to play around with and can transform boring photos into exciting content.

5. InShot

The last app on my list is a video editing app called InShot. InShot is a simple mobile editing tool with so many awesome options for video edits. In this app you can adjust clip sizes, add text, change transitions, add music and more. As an iphone user I actually prefer this app over imovie as there are more options to choose from as well as a better music selection. InShot has been my go to app for creating quick and easy videos on both Pinterest and Tiktok.

I hope this list is helpful in your journey to producing content! If there is an app you’re using and loving please share with me in the comments!

Til next time,
