What is oil pulling & how do you do it?

Oil pulling is commonly associated with Ayurvedic medicine with its beginnings traced back to South India. Today oil pulling is typically done with organic coconut oil.

Oil pulling is done by swishing around coconut oil in your mouth at least 2-3 times a week. The "pulling" acts as oral care for your gums and teeth.

Natural, unrefined. organic coconut oil is best for this because of its anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-microbial properties.

Swishing around the oil in your mouth helps to pull out toxins and bacteria. The oil also naturally aids with tooth decay and sensitive gums.

Start by swishing 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth for 5 minutes. Once you feel comfortable with this time frame, you can work your way up to 15 or even 20 minutes!

SPIT IT OUT!

Once you're done, be sure to spit the oil in a trash can. Not only is the oil filled with bacteria at this point, it can also clog up your pipes if hardened by cold water.
