Let’s be real. With so many clean beauty brands/products on the market it can become overwhelming trying to figure out what’s best for your skin and body. Thankfully, making the switch to safer products has just become a lot easier thanks to Follain!
Follain is a clean beauty retailer with brick and mortar locations as well as a large online store available for easy, nontoxic shopping. Unlike other stores who merely carry other brands, Follain has actually gone a step further to create their own line as well. In this line you can find all kinds of key household items like multi purpose soap, lotion, candles and bath salts making their store a one stop shop.
In addition to this though, a feature on their site that really won me over is their offer to customize a unique skincare regiment just for YOU. By answering a quick few questions on their site about your skin, concerns and currently used products – they whip up a routine best suited for you featuring only clean brands of course! They hit the nail on the head for my skin type and suggested some perfect products in literally five minutes!
Below is a quick peek at how it works. Starting at their home page, simply click the “take the skin quiz” button and a series of questions will then appear. After about 5 questions, your skin type is determined along with a list of what brands you should be looking into. Seriously THAT simple.
If after taking the quiz you still have questions you can always reach out via email and they’re super happy to help. After speaking with some of the ladies myself about what I personally was looking for, they were kind enough to send me some goodies that I’m happy to say were all a WIN.
1. Follain Organic Rose Body Butter
I’ve been on the hunt for a clean, effective lotion for some time now and I think this finally may be the one you guys! The ingredients are only: Shea butter, sunflower seed oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, sweet almond oil and Moroccan rose oil. Um, YES. The lotion is stiff when scooping it out but melts beautifully when applied to the skin. The smell isn’t over powering or synthetic smelling and you get a hefty amount in the jar. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and doesn’t absorb super quickly like others I’ve used, forcing me to have to reapply a ton.
2. Follain refillable multi purpose soap
Similar to the Dr. Bronners Castile soap, this bad boy can be used on everything from skin, to dishes to countertops! Honestly though I find the Dr. Bronnrs to be VERY drying on the skin and I don’t get that with this soap at all. It smells amazingggg with notes of citrus and lemongrass making for an uplifting aroma. I love the fact that they also promote sustainability with these by offering a refillable station at their locations once you run out! How cool is that?!? I recently stayed at the beach this past weekend and took this with me to act as our hand/body soap in the bathroom. It’s seriously lovely.
3. Kari Gran three sixty five SPF 28
If you don’t know by now, I live in Florida which means spf is a must. I was excited to try this Kari Gran one as it states it not only acts a serum spf, but can also double as a tinted moisturizer when mixed with mineral makeup. I’ve tried with my Gia Minerals powder and was pleased to see it actually worked! It was very light so I wouldn’t say it can replace a foundation in terms of coverage but its perfect if you’re headed to the beach/outdoors and want a little coverage to even out the skin.
It smells pretty much like sunflower seed and contains nourishing organic ingredients like avocado, kukui seed, raspberry seed, jojoba oil and non nano zinc for sun protection. As far as working as a primer for foundation, I’ve found it pairs best with the Antonym skin esteem foundation.
** It does contain beewax so it isn’t a vegan product.
4. Ursa Major Vitamin C Serum
This makes for the third Ursa Major product I’ve tried and so far they can do no wrong in my eyes! This lightweight serum has quickly become a nightly staple in my skin care routine right before applying my Osea moisturizer. It helps to fight free radicals while evening out skin tone and providing an additional layer of hydration for my skin. It absorbs into the skin nicely and has been especially helpful for my skin after spending so much time in the salt water and sun these past few days. This also helps to promote elasticity, firmness in the skin and an overall bright youthful glow.
